We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accounts Assistant for a leading manufacturer. The client has decades of heritage and a reputation for quality, they are proud to deliver industry leading products.

As they continue to grow, they are looking for a skilled and detail Senior Accounts Assistant to support their finance team in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting that informs key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and journals in line with company policy and accounting standards
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Support month end and year end closing processes, including trial balance reviews and audit preparation
• Maintain fixed asset register and ensure appropriate depreciation calculations
• Assist with VAT returns and other HMRC submissions
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure accurate cost allocations and resolve discrepancies.
• Continuously improve financial processes and controls for efficiency and compliance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar accounts role with responsibility for monthly management accounts
• Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments, and general ledger processes
• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Sage or similar ERP systems desirable)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
