Assistant SENCO - Job Specification

• Assistant SENCO
• Full time, fixed-term contract
• 27,500 - 39,500 per annum (Unqualified Teacher Payscale)
• Typical school hours, with after-school commitment required as and when to speak with parents and teachers
• Supporting Quality First Teaching and Interventions across the schools
• Liaising with external agencies, other settings and parents
• Managing professional referrals and reports
• Information gathering and the writing of EHCNAs and Annual Reviews
• Supporting with aims of the School SEND Action Plans
• The provision mapping cycle and liaising with class teachers

Assistant SENCO - Candidate Specification

• Experience working with SEN in schools (minimum two years)
• Genuine interest in SEN
• Track-record for supporting pupils directly, i.e TA/ESLA/HLTA/Learning Mentor
• Confident, clear communicator that can be empathetic and understanding
