Are you a proven Technical Manager in the food industry looking for your next challenge? We're recruiting on behalf of a leading food production business that is committed to delivering quality, safety, and innovation across its operations.

The Opportunity:

Our client - a well-established, fast-growing food manufacturing company - is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead their technical and quality agenda on-site. This is a key role overseeing food safety, compliance, audits, and quality management systems, ensuring products consistently meet customer and retailer standards.

As Technical Manager, you'll be a core part of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Factory Manager and playing a vital role in continuous improvement and site development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Technical and QA teams, driving a quality-first culture across the site.

  • Ensure full compliance with food safety standards, HACCP, BRC, retailer codes of practice, and legal regulations.

  • Maintain and develop the site's Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Act as the site lead for third-party and customer audits (e.g., BRCGS, Tesco, M&S, etc.).

  • Liaise with NPD, production, and commercial teams to support new product launches and technical trials.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances.

  • Build strong relationships with customers and regulatory bodies.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on food safety, hygiene, and operational excellence.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Manager or Senior QA Manager in a food manufacturing environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, food legislation, and retailer standards.

  • Experience leading audits and managing customer relationships.

  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Relevant qualifications in food science, microbiology, or a related discipline.

  • Level 3 or 4 HACCP and Food Safety qualifications (desirable).
