Senior Quantity Surveyor


Location: Galway, Ireland Company Details: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a fast-growing, innovation-led construction firm based in Galway. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in overseeing project cost control, shaping commercial strategy, and mentoring junior team members. This position is ideal for a commercially astute and experienced professional seeking to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and supportive environment. Responsibilities: Oversee full financial management of projects to ensure commercial targets are met. Lead subcontractor procurement, management of packages, and payments. Prepare and maintain monthly valuations, variation submissions, and cost reports. Liaise with project managers and site teams to ensure cost efficiency and accurate forecasting. Support in contract administration, negotiation, and compliance. Monitor budgets and cash flow, ensuring timely reporting to senior management. Drive improvements in reporting systems and commercial practices. Mentor junior members of the Quantity Surveying team, helping to build a high-performance, collaborative culture. Requirements: Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field. Minimum of five years post-graduate experience, preferably within a main contracting environment. Strong knowledge of PWC and RIAI forms of contract. Proficient in Cubit and Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractor accounts and handle complex variations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
