Graduate Science Technician (Food Sciences)

Contechs are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Food Science Graduate to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about scientific research and eager to apply their knowledge in a practical laboratory environment.

The role at Graduate Food Science Technician is to be responsible for carrying out practical work to support project managers to help develop new products and solve any challenges associated with formulating, application of ingredients and development of novel food processing techniques. The role is also responsible for performing kitchen admin, housekeeping activities and working in accordance with the quality standards and health and safety requirements of the development kitchen.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective organisation of assigned workload, provide high quality product samples, and timely/accurate provision of results. Attend review meetings and project updates when requested
• Maintain accurate records of practical work and results generated, for contribution to high quality final reports
• Be competent in the operation of all kitchen equipment
• Follow product formulations provided by project managers to produce bench scale samples to a high standard
• Support on pilot plant and scale up trials as and when requested by project managers
• Provide training in routine lab activities and housekeeping duties

This role would be ideal for a recent Food Science Degree. No experience is necessary as training will be provided.
