JOB PURPOSE of the Yard Banksman in Aylesbury

As a Yard Banksman you will be hands on role the AD Operator is responsible for undertaking the day to day tasks required to ensure the Anaerobic Digestion plant functions efficiently and effectively, thereby ensuring the plant is optimised from a biochemical, operational and technical perspective based in Aylesbury with a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES of the Yard Banksman in Aylesbury

• HEALTH & SAFETY - Ensure all tasks are undertaken in a safe & compliant manner. Ensure familiarisation with all SOP and work instructions governing all aspects of on-site activity. Highlight areas of concern and raise concerns with colleagues or SHEQ Manager. Work under approved Risk Assessment and Method Statements RAMS and Safe Systems of Work (SSW) and Work Instructions (WI)
• ENVIRONMENT - Ensure all tasks are completed in line with the required environmental standards at all times.
• QUALITY & PERFORMANCE - Using own and colleague's knowledge ensure that tasks are completed to comply with the quality and performance targets. Undertake sampling and quality checks using the lab equipment where required. Take action as required by the results. Escalate issues as appropriate
• OPERATIONS - Undertake the day to day operation of the facility and work as a team with the other operators. Perform tasks as appropriate to ensure the continuous and effective performance of the facility.
• OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE - Act in a timely manner to maximise operational performance. Where potential issues are identified take action or escalate as appropriate. Implement preventative and corrective action as required.
• CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT - Look for opportunities to continuously optimise and develop the current process to improve throughput and gas yield and share these suggestions with the GM or Supervisor.
• MAINTENANCE - Work with the AD fitter and other colleagues to support the undertaking of planned and corrective maintenance. Undertake basic maintenance and repair activities to minimise downtime as allocated.
• PRODUCTIVITY - Flexible approach to remaining on site until issues are resolved or handed over.
• SPECIAL PROJECTS - Undertake special projects as required to ensure the best outcome
