CNC Vertical borers / CNC

Job Description:
Adept Resourcing is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering firm in Sheffield for experienced CNC Lathe Turners and CNC Vertical Borers to join their night shift team.

You will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming Heidenhain-controlled machines directly at the machine interface. The role involves machining high-value fabrications, castings, and forgings to precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Programming and operating CNC lathes or vertical borers (Heidenhain controls)

• Machining large, complex components to tight tolerances

• Working from engineering drawings

• Ensuring quality and dimensional accuracy

• Collaborating with the shop floor team to maintain work flow and standards

• Working safely and efficiently in a heavy engineering environment

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner or Vertical Borer

• Confident programming Heidenhain controls at the machine

• Strong knowledge of machining forgings, castings, and fabrications

• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
