  • Salary: GBP24,498.65 per annum
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
  • Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks

About Us

Underley Garden School is a large school with small class sizes, focusing on pupils and young people, aged 5-19, who have a range of complex needs associated with autism and learning disabilities, including complex communication, sensory and behavioural needs associated with their disabilities.

Our School adopts a holistic, person-centred approach to the development of our young people and endeavours to ensure that they achieve as high a standard as possible. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of education, care and therapy to meet the individual requirements of young people with complex special educational needs.

Located near the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale on the edge of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales in a commutable distance of Lancaster, Cumbria and surrounding areas.

About the role

To assist across all aspects of the SENCO role and administrative processes within Underley Garden School

Develop and maintain good working relationships with;

  • Parents, relevant family members, Carers
  • Key stake holders within Local Authorities (SEND, CSC etc) and across other agencies and professional organisations.
  • All staff across the Underley Garden School and Care setting

To undertake other duties consistent with the scope of the post and within the competence of the post holder as required and directed by the Head Teacher.

All employees are obliged to adhere to the company code of professional conduct, which is produced in the Employee Handbook.

All employees are expected to take part in a continuous professional development program as required following annual performance management reviews.

Desirable

  • At least 12 months experience as a SENCo Assistant in a school or education provision where supporting with challenging behaviour is a key part of the role
  • GCSE's in English and Maths
  • ICT knowledge
