Pre-Construction Project Manager

Kenton Black are recruiting for an exciting Pre-Construction Project Manager opportunity with a leading Tier 1 main contractor in the Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire area, on a permanent basis. The client is a nationally recognised contractor renowned for delivering complex, high-value projects across the UK. With a substantial pipeline of secured and forthcoming work in the North East, they are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Project Manager to lead early-stage project development, ensuring proposals, designs, and delivery strategies are fully coordinated ahead of construction commencement. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the pre-construction process from initial enquiry through to handover to delivery teams - Coordinate design development, technical reviews, and value-engineering opportunities - Lead tender submissions, programme preparation, risk assessments, and buildability reviews - Work collaboratively with estimating, planning, design, commercial, and operational teams - Engage with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure project requirements are fully understood and met - Ensure all pre-construction activities follow company governance, compliance standards, and H&S principles - Present proposals, progress updates, and technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders What You Bring: - 5+ years’ experience in pre-construction, project management, design management, or technical roles within a main contracting environment - Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and buildability considerations - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence presenting and influencing - Strong organisational abilities with a proactive, solutions-driven approach - Relevant construction, engineering, or project management qualifications (or equivalent practical experience) Why This Role?
