Job Title: Operations Manager Location: Office-based (with site travel) Sector: Facilities Management Discipline: M&E – Mechanically Biased Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to act as the key conduit between client sites and the head office. The role is primarily office-based but requires regular coordination with engineers, subcontractors, and clients across multiple locations. The position is mechanically biased within M&E and focuses heavily on reactive maintenance, remedial works, and emergency response. Key Responsibilities * Act as the primary liaison between operational sites and the office * Manage reactive maintenance and remedial works across the contract portfolio * Coordinate and manage subcontractors for specialist and remedial services * Oversee emergency call-outs, including out-of-hours response * Arrange and manage compliance-related works such as: * Gas testing * Electrical testing * Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and in line with contractual SLAs * Support planning, scheduling, and prioritisation of reactive jobs * Maintain clear communication with clients, engineers, and subcontractors * Monitor performance, quality of works, and compliance documentation Geographic Coverage * Majority of work based in South England and London * Flexibility required to travel to other regions when necessary Skills & Experience * Strong background in Facilities Management * Mechanically biased M&E experience essential * Proven experience managing reactive and remedial maintenance * Experience coordinating subcontracted works * Knowledge of gas and electrical compliance testing * Excellent communication and organisational skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Desirable * Experience handling emergency call-out procedures * Knowledge of FM compliance and statutory requirements * Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
