Principal Structural Engineer  Gloucester Competitive Salary + Benefits We are representing a respected multidisciplinary consultancy seeking an accomplished Principal Structural Engineer to lead the technical delivery of their own project portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer ready to take on greater responsibility, uphold high technical standards, and play a key role in the commercial performance and quality management of structural commissions. About the Role As a project leader, you will confidently engage with clients across a range of sectors, maintaining strong existing relationships while also identifying opportunities to develop new ones. You will provide guidance and support to colleagues and contribute directly to technical design and reporting—requiring strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Key Sectors The consultancy delivers structural engineering expertise across: Private and affordable housing Care and supported living Renewable energy (notably wind) Industrial and commercial developments Land remediation Emerging rail sector work Projects span the UK, with a strong focus on South Wales and the West of England. Technical Expertise You should bring comprehensive knowledge of major structural materials and have experience leading the design process. Familiarity with the following software is advantageous: TEKLA (TSD & Portal Frame) Scia Tedds Revit Structure AutoCAD About You Typically 10+ years post-graduate experience Proven experience taking full design responsibility for projects Chartered status preferred, though highly experienced non-Chartered candidates will be considered Strong leadership qualities and the ability to support and inspire team members Confident client-facing communicator Full UK driving licence required You will report directly to the Board and will receive ongoing support for continuous professional development and career advancement.
