Resident Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) Location: Frankfurt, Germany Rate: Approx. €850 per day (all-in) Contract Type: Freelance / Contract Overview We are seeking two technically outstanding Resident Engineers-one Mechanical and one Electrical-to oversee two major data centre projects in Frankfurt. The design phase is complete, and construction activity is about to accelerate rapidly. This is a key opportunity to join just as the projects move into a critical delivery stage. Key Responsibilities Act as the client's on-site representative to ensure mechanical or electrical works are delivered to the highest standards. Review and interpret complex design drawings and specifications, providing expert guidance to contractors and stakeholders. Monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with design intent and local regulations. Identify and resolve technical issues quickly to keep the programme on track. Liaise closely with the General Contractors, design teams, and client PMs to maintain clear communication and documentation. Requirements Proven experience as a Resident Engineer, Construction Manager, or similar role on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects. Deep technical knowledge in your discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) with the ability to interrogate designs and drawings. Strong understanding of European/German building codes and data centre standards. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; confident in challenging contractors where necessary. Flexibility to be on-site in Frankfurt Monday to Friday during peak activity (some initial flexibility possible).
