Senior Underwriter

The opportunity A growing insurance business is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join its Renewals Team, with flexibility to work 3 days in the office (Leeds) and 2 days from home. Offices are also available in Manchester and Birmingham. The role focuses on Social Welfare and Charity risks, including foster care, rehab centres, and special needs schools. Key responsibilities Underwrite renewals, including complex and high-premium cases Manage broker referrals via e-trading, email, and phone Build and maintain strong broker relationships Attend market update meetings and share insights Ensure compliance with company guidelines and profitability targets Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell Support team development and assist with ad hoc projects Skills & experience Proven commercial underwriting experience (social welfare a plus) Strong written and verbal communication Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to develop broker relationships Confident using MS Office and e-trading systems Willingness to pursue or already hold CII qualifications (fully funded)
