A Toolmaker opportunity is now available within a respected engineering business renowned for its expertise in press tool design, maintenance, and precision machining. Toolmaker responsibilities include -

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on press tools to reduce downtime and cost.
  • Dismantle, assess, and reassemble tools to tight tolerances.
  • Estimate repair time and plan handovers for shift continuity.
  • Decide whether repairs can be done in-press or need toolroom work.
  • Liaise with press ops, maintenance, and team leaders for smooth workflow.
  • Complete accurate and detailed work reports after each task.

Toolmaker desirable skills and experience -

  • Experience working within a similar role (tooling Engineer, Machinist etc).
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings and press tool fault find.
  • Time served, or a manufacturing/mechanical engineering education.
