Role Overview

They are looking to appoint a skilled and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor or Estimator with experience in passive fire protection. You will be responsible for tender preparation, cost planning, and commercial management across a portfolio of firestopping, fire door, and compartmentation projects. This is a key role within a growing commercial team, offering long-term career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions for PFP works.
  • Analyse technical drawings, specifications, and site surveys to develop accurate scopes of work.
  • Source competitive supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Liaise with site teams and clients throughout project delivery to ensure cost control and value optimisation.
  • Produce and manage valuations, applications for payment, and variations.
  • Maintain up-to-date commercial records and assist in monthly reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator in passive fire protection, drylining, or specialist subcontracting.
  • Strong understanding of relevant UK fire safety standards and building regulations.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all commercial documentation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office and estimating software.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
