Technical Author (Full-Time / Part-Time / Consultant) Location: Thatcham, Berkshire, UK Industry: Broadcast Test & Measurement Salary: Competitive + Benefits We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Technical Author to join one of the UK’s leading broadcast technology companies. This is a dynamic role combining technical writing and support, where you'll create clear, engaging documentation for cutting-edge software and firmware-based products in the professional broadcast TV industry. Key Responsibilities: * Create and maintain user manuals, installation guides, and technical support docs * Collaborate with R&D, product management, and engineering teams * Ensure high-quality, user-friendly content aligned with company standards * Support agile development and participate in testing/documentation validation * Continuously improve documentation processes and tools About You: * 5+ years of technical authoring experience (MadCap Flare preferred) * Strong communicator with excellent writing skills * Able to simplify complex technical content * Organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities * Experience in broadcast/media tech and familiarity with standards like SDI, SMPTE 2110, IP & Networking is a plus Desirable Skills: * Microsoft Visio, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator * Understanding of video, audio, ANC, and broadcast systems Why Join Us? * Flexible working hours * 25 days holiday + bank holidays * Discretionary bonus, pension, and healthcare schemes * On-site gym and EV chargers * Opportunities for growth and professional development
