Quantity Surveyor


TMS Maritime is growing and therefore on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor based in Dawlish, with occasional travel to project sites. Our success is driven by our talented team, and we are now looking for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join us.

Role Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor at TMS Maritime, you will play a pivotal role in our project delivery team. You will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of our projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Your duties will include contract administration, cost control, and providing support to the Project Manager to resolve commercial issues.

Key Responsibilities for the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Review and understand contract requirements, communicating them effectively to the delivery team.
  • Produce monthly applications, invoices, and final accounts.
  • Generate monthly project cost reports and Forecast Cost and Value to Completion.
  • Initiate and manage compensation events and variations.
  • Maintain registers of variations, delays, extensions of time, early warnings, and claims.
  • Produce and manage sub-contract agreements.
  • Support the Project Manager in resolving commercial issues.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Sound working knowledge of construction and contract law, particularly NEC Conditions of Contract.
  • Experience with cost forecasting, reporting, cost control, risk management, and contract administration.
  • Excellent work ethic with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
  • Strong project management background.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, with occasional travel to sites across the UK.
