Principal Systems Engineer


Are you an experienced Systems Engineer with a Safety Critical Engineering background? Would you like to work on highly innovative projects in the Rail industry? The Situation & Company  Ford & Stanley are currently partnered with a Railway Systems expert who specialise in software and signalling solutions. Due to growing client demands, they are looking for a well experienced, Principal Systems Engineer. This will be to support existing systems but also work on new product development and innovation. The Role The Principal Systems Engineer will be the technical project lead and take full ownership of product development and systems engineering activities. Your involvement will be across the full project development lifecycle and require you to design & implement high quality system solutions. The Principal Engineer will also be involved with the wider management team, with a close knitted team of 5 Systems Engineers reporting into the position. You will be utilised as an escalation point and subject matter expert. Your duties will be wide ranging but ultimately you will be performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Essential Experience Strong background in Systems Engineering in a Safety Critical Industry (Rail highly desirable) Previous team & project leadership experience Strong client and stakeholder management skills Experience working with and understanding architecture from a software & hardware perspective. Ideally degree educated in Systems Engineering or other similar field. Location Wiltshire – This role will be predominantly based on site.
