Children's Support Worker

We are looking for a dedicated professional like you.

Nashe-UK provides children's residential accommodation and supported living accommodation to young people, aged 8 - 18. We currently have 11 homes based throughout Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The young people who reside in our homes may have suffered abuse, neglect or trauma. We also provide accommodation for young unaccompanied asylum seekers.

We are a highly professional, diverse, committed team with considerable experience of working with complex and vulnerable young people. Our values are professional, reliable and always caring and we aim to consistently evidence these in our service delivery.

Support workers are required to work shifts hours are as follows: -

8am -2pm Morning Shift

2pm - 8pm Afternoon Shift

8am - 8pm Long Day

8pm - 8am Waking Night Shift

The main responsibilities of a Support Worker include: -

  • Engaging with and delivering key work to young people
  • Working closely with the wider professional team around the young people
  • Working closely with Nashe-UK colleagues, particularly within their home teams
  • Maintaining high housekeeping standards within the home
  • Keeping information systems and records up to date
  • Completing written reports

Experience, Skills and Qualities

  • Previous experience working with children and young people
  • The ability to engage with young people with challenging behaviour and/or complex emotional and behavioural needs
  • A strong commitment to working as part of a team
  • The ability to work flexibly and be available if needed in an emergency
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • The ability to meet and maintain our safeguarding requirements
  • A commitment to personal development
  • A commitment to continuous organisational improvement
  • A driver's licence and their own car
