Senior Planner


Our client is a Tier 1 Main Contractor currently in the search for a Senior Planner to join the team. The successful individual will play a pivotal role in the planning and scheduling of construction projects, ensuring efficient project delivery within specified timelines and budgets. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop realistic project plans and timelines. Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements, constraints, and risks to develop accurate and achievable schedules. Identify critical path activities and potential delays, and provide proactive solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project continuity. Monitor project progress, analyse deviations from the schedule, and recommend corrective actions as necessary to maintain project timelines. Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for project stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues. Assist in the preparation of tender submissions, providing input on project scheduling, sequencing, and resource requirements. Mentor and provide guidance to junior planning team members, fostering their professional development and growth. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in construction planning and scheduling.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Proven experience as a Planner or Scheduler in the construction industry, with relevant experience. Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6, AstaPower, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement. Membership in relevant professional organisations (e.g., Chartered Institute of Building, Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering) is desirable.Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
