Job Role: Purchasing Assistant
Location: Manchester
Shift : Days Only
Salary : 26,000 to 30,000 per annum, may negotiate

Metalis is working in partnership with well established company specialising in fabrication, machining and quality of metal products. To support their purchasing department, we are looking to hire an experienced Buyer/Procurement Assistant on a permanent contract.

Job Duties:

  • Liaising daily current with suppliers.
  • Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating where necessary to ensure competitive costings.
  • Supporting different departments to ensure sufficient levels of stock are maintained.
  • Monthly reporting on supplier performance
  • Raising Purchase Order numbers and checking supplier invoices
  • Maintain a consistent portfolio of suppliers and back up suppliers

Job Requirements:

  • Commercial awareness
  • An understanding of technical drawings to support production, warehouse and sales teams
  • Budget knowledge
  • Strong mathematic skills
  • Understanding quality standards - ISO
  • Excellent communicator
  • Keen eye for detail
  • IT Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internal purchasing systems.

Salary & Shift:

  • 39 hour working week
  • Monday to Friday, days
  • 26,000 to 30,000 per annum
