A tier 1 contractor that is very prominent in the life sciences sector is actively seeking a Health & Safety Manager for a new pharmaceutical project in the Didcot area. This contractor is widely known internationally and operate in mission critical, residential, commercial and civil engineering sectors. This is a long term permanent role with roughly a year remaining on the project, and minimum three years in the pipeline in Oxford and the surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will boast a proven track record of safely delivering major construction projects in either the UK or Ireland and ideally have some pharmaceutical experience. Health & Safety Manager Responsibilities: * Assist in developing and implementing EHS strategies and policies to: * Help ensure the safety of all employees, contractors and visitors * Ensure ongoing legal compliance * Keep up to date with current UK legislation and industry best practice and share this information with site staff * Take a key role in maintaining/improving our overall safety performance and that of our supply chain partners * Attend all pre-commencement meetings and agree which RAMS need your review * Review Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) as required * Sit with and mentor site management teams in site set up, preparing H&S documents or presentations such as RAMS, toolbox talks, etc. * Perform periodic site inspections and prepare relevant audit reports * Attend internal project meeting to discuss specific issues when activities on site require * Take the lead in accident investigations Health & Safety Manager Requirements: * NEBOSH or other relevant H&S Qualification essential * Excellent knowledge of H&S requirements in UK Construction Industry * Good knowledge of current technical building requirements * Ability to build strong working relationships with a wide range of people * Excellent communication and negotiation skills * Proactive with strong problem-solving ability * Pharmaceutical experience If you would like to apply for this ole, please forward your latest CV using the email link provided or call Niall directly on (phone number removed)
