Supplier Quality Engineer


Embedded within the Procurement team – this exciting new position is an opportunity to define & deploy Best Practice methods enabling improvement with our supply base. You will support the client to achieve a sustainable, reliable, and consistent benchmark supplier performance in Quality, Delivery, and value. Directly collaborating with the Engineering, Procurement, Production, New Product Introduction departments and suppliers – enabling the client to meet operational demands whilst improving Customer satisfaction & future proofing our supply chains. Proactive identification of suppliers needing support via performance data will define longer-term focus improvements, this will be in addition to reactive activities to quickly resolve current production challenges as they arise. This requires the successful Engineer to have the following attributes: * Flexibility * Ability to manage conflicting priorities * Tenacity & Thoroughness * Take decisions / be accountable * Enjoy Autonomy * Collaborate and maintain good working relationships * Effective use of Quality tools and problem-solving techniques Key Responsibilities: * Visiting suppliers at their sites when required. * Verifying application of robust countermeasures to consistently achieve zero rejects. * Defining & managing Development plans at supplier facilities * Sharing and embedding best proactive methods to support supplier improvements. * Embed TQM initiatives at our suppliers – this could include LEAN, Statistical methods, Process controls, share best practice. * Influencing suppliers to change to achieve Zero rejects, on time delivery, reduce lead-times and costs. * Perform Supplier Product and Process audits. * Generate countermeasure solutions to supply chain issues. * Support multi-functional team working – NPI projects, cost down initiatives, Supplier concerns. * Supporting NPI with application of APQP / PPAP. * Remain positive operating effectively in a challenging environment. * Perform duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and processes. Skills & Experience: * Experience within a Quality role in Aerospace / Automotive or other similar Industry. * Direct Parts and Process development – being familiar with Best Practice of manufacturing processes. * Application of Quality tools. * Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Team player that maintains excellent collaborative relationships. * Determination, Rigour, and good sense of humour. * Full UK driving license. Security Clearance: Candidates must be eligible for SC Security Clearance
