Position: Learning Support Assistants Contract Type: Full-time Location: London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Start Date: Immediate Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications About the School Special School serving pupils aged 4-16 years old Admits students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) Offers comprehensive CPD packages, daily training, and wellbeing incentives Provides excellent working conditions, resources, and opportunities for growth Key Responsibilities Support students across all areas of the school, demonstrating an optimistic and aspirational attitude towards their development. Be willing to undertake necessary training to acquire skills required to work effectively in a specialist setting. Collaborate with the staff team to ensure the needs of pupils are prioritized and met effectively. Embrace opportunities and challenges presented within the role, contributing to the overall success of the school community. Selection Criteria Have experience or an interest in working with children with Learning Difficulties within either an educational setting or transferable sectors such as care & support work. Hold an NVQ Level 2 or above (desirable). Be willing to undertake the relevant online CPD courses/training prior to starting the role. Prioritize the needs of pupils and demonstrate a willingness to learn new roles. Work effectively as part of a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Are flexible in their approach to working with pupils, adapting to meet their diverse needs.
