Mechanical Fitter


Due to continued growth I’m currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to work with a well-established engineering company based near Halesowen. As the Mechanical Fitter you will be responsible for assisting with supporting operations teams by performing necessary breakdown repairs, leading preventative maintenance activities and facilitating the promotion of engineering solutions for process improvement to ensure process availability and productivity are optimised. Shift pattern for the Mechanical Fitter: * Week one - Monday - Friday (6am – 14:00pm) * Week two – Monday – Thursday (14:00pm – 22:00pm) * Week two – Friday (18:00pm finish) What’s on offer for the Mechanical Fitter: * Competitive salary up to £34,200 p.a. Duties of the Mechanical Fitter: * Maintain and repair plant machinery and ancillary equipment in a safe and productive manner in order to maximise availability at optimum cost. * Adhere to the preventative maintenance programmes to ensure that unplanned downtime is to a minimum. * Ensure engineering spares and inventory on site are managed within budget constraints and equipment downtime is minimised. * Undertaking maintenance at short notice. * Understand, deploy and seek to recommend improvements to production control procedures to support team performance objectives. The successful candidate for the Mechanical Fitters position will have the following experience: * 3 – 5 year’s experience working as a Mechanical Fitter (Essential) * Experienced with Maintaining & repairing Machining centres, Lathes and other plant equipment (Essential) * Able to read and interpret technical Engineering drawings (Essential) * Experience within heavy engineering (Desirable) Due to the high number of applications we receive, we are sometimes not able to respond directly to each candidate.
