Electrical Design Engineer Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Location: Wellingborough Hours: 9am- 5.30pm, Monday to Friday Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience + Benefits The Role: We are working with a leading engineering firm specialising in the design, development, and implementation of steel structures. They are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to focus on the design and development of electrical control systems for heavy lifting equipment. Responsibilities: Designing and developing electrical and control systems for heavy lifting equipment, including detailed specifications, circuit diagrams, and schematics. Ensuring compliance with relevant electrical design and safety standards, European directives, and legislation. Executing projects by conducting feasibility studies, installing, commissioning, testing, and operating equipment in workshop and field settings, as well as providing technical support to customers. Documenting all work performed, maintaining technical literature, and delivering training programs for customers on equipment use, service, and repair. Performing routine and corrective maintenance on equipment in the workshop. Skills Required: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject, such as Electrical Engineering. 2-3 years post-graduate experience in designing electrical systems. Experience of 400V AC power circuits and 24DC control circuits is essential. Solid knowledge of electrical principles, codes and standards. Excellent problem solving and organisational skills. Knowledge in the use of CAD packages (AutoCad and/or Inventor or EPLAN). Willingness to travel abroad on occasion. Full UK Driving Licence.
