Build Engineer

Job Information

As an Assembly Build Engineer you will be responsible for the mechanical build and assembly of a range of components and systems, working from engineering drawings and specifications. Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Assembling mechanical parts and sub-assemblies to precise tolerances
• Using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to complete builds
• Interpreting and working from technical drawings and build instructions
• Performing tasks such as drilling, tapping, bolting, aligning, and general fitting
• Ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards
• Working collaboratively with colleagues in the engineering and quality teams
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
• Completing relevant documentation and supporting continuous improvement

Key Requirements

To be successful in this Assembly Build Engineer role, you should live within a commutable distance of Rotherham and posses previous experience in a mechanical assembly, fitting or build role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Good hand skills and familiarity with tools and equipment used in mechanical assembly
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach to your work
• A positive attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar (desirable but not essential)

Salary and Benefits

The Assembly Build Engineer role offers a competitive salary of 28,000 to 32,000 per annum, depending on experience, and is based on a Monday to Friday dayshift, with no weekend or shift work.
