Senior Performance Engineer Location: Dublin / Hybrid Salary: Up to €65,000 Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Senior Performance Engineer to join our team in Dublin. This role focuses on ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of cloud-native applications in a fast-paced, Agile environment. As a Senior Performance Engineer, you will collaborate closely with software engineers to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle. You will design and implement performance testing strategies, build automation frameworks, and help shape best practices for end-to-end performance management. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of performance initiatives in a hybrid working model. Key Responsibilities Design and implement robust performance and scalability testing strategies for applications and platforms. Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality through test coverage, performance benchmarking, monitoring, and early testing practices. Document detailed performance test strategies, test plans, and system specifications. Translate complex requirements into actionable performance testing methods. Lead efforts to automate performance testing, including identifying tools and building reusable frameworks. Resolve performance issues and replicate production bottlenecks to improve system resilience. Evaluate and implement best practices in application performance management (APM). Integrate performance automation tools with CI/CD pipelines. Conduct root cause analysis and provide strategic guidance on improvements. Actively contribute to code reviews and quality assurance efforts. Requirements Proven experience in Performance Engineering for cloud-native or microservices-based applications. Hands-on experience with: JMeter Java Microbenchmark Harness (JMH) Java, Spring Boot Microservices architecture Containers / PaaS platforms NATS or equivalent messaging systems. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development practices. Proficiency in Dynatrace or similar APM tools (e.g., New Relic, AppDynamics). Experience building automation frameworks and test scripts. Strong understanding of real-time, online scalable systems. Passionate about code quality, performance metrics, and testing automation. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently or lead initiatives
