Document Controller


Company Overview:

We are workimh with a leading residential contractor with an annual turnover of approximately GBP100 million. The business specialise in delivering high-quality residential developments across London and the South East. Our projects include collaborations with Tier 1 developers such as Ballymore and the Berkeley Group. They are currently seeking a Document Controller with experience using Field View to support their growing team on a major residential scheme in South London.

Role Overview:

As the site-based Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing all document control processes on a large-scale residential project. You will ensure all documentation is up to date, stored correctly, and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders. This is a key role ensuring smooth project delivery and compliance with QA and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the flow of project documentation using Field View and other systems.

  • Maintain up-to-date records and ensure documents are filed correctly (electronically and hard copies as required).

  • Support the project team with uploading, tracking, and issuing drawings, RFI logs, design information, and reports.

  • Act as the main point of contact for all document control queries on-site.

  • Ensure that all project documents are reviewed, signed, and issued in line with company and project procedures.

  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and client teams to ensure timely document submissions.

  • Assist with quality assurance processes including tracking NCRs and managing document revisions.

  • Provide training or support to site teams in using Field View when required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Document Controller on construction projects.

  • Strong experience using Field View is essential.

  • Previous experience working with residential contractors or housebuilders.

  • Understanding of construction drawings and documentation processes.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office and document management software.
