Music Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join a secondary school in Burton Upon Thames area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in musical disciplines and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves educating students in key music concepts, encouraging critical thinking, and promoting a love for music through engaging lessons and practical laboratory experiences. The role will be working Tuesday and Thursday till the end of term. Ideally need someone with QTS or has been a cover supervisor with a strong Music background.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
• Teach various music concepts
• Conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations to enhance students' understanding of music principles.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Provide individual tutoring and support for students who require additional assistance.
• Assess student performance through assignments and projects, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and any concerns.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational practices and advancements in science.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of music concepts across various disciplines
• Experience in special education is advantageous for supporting diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex information to students of varying abilities.
• Ability to proofread educational materials for clarity and accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills to manage classroom activities and resources efficiently.
• Experience in behaviour management techniques to foster a positive classroom atmosphere.
• A passion for educating young minds about the wonders of science.
