Maintenance Assistant

We have a great opportunity for an expanding company based in Peterlee who are looking for a Line Technician/ Maintenance Assistant to join the team. The role would suit someone with machine experience or a recent college leaver who is looking to get into a Mechanical Maintenance role. With this role it will initially start on a temporary basis and become permanent for the right candidate after successfully completing a qualifying period.

The role will involve working a 3 shift pattern: Day Shift Monday to Friday 6.00am-2.00pm, Back Shift Monday to Friday 2.00pm - 10.00pm and Night Shift Sunday to Thursday 10.00pm to 6.00am.

The rate of pay is 12.13 per hour for day shift and back shift, the night shift includes a 20% shift alliance meaning nights are paid at 14.56 per hour. Total annual salary 26,910.

Full training will be giving, duties will include:

• Monitoring working machines and reacting to faults
• Stripping machinery and pumps down
• Carry out routine checks on the machinery
• Cleaning of machinery
• Working alongside the maintenance technician to assist with repairs

Essential Experience:

• Experience working with industrial machinery
• GCSE's in Maths and English level 4 (grade C) or above
• Ability to get to site for the shift times

Desired Experience:

• Engineering qualification
