Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Workington. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to an individual in their own home setting. This position involves assisting our client with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The Support Worker will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver tailored care plans, particularly regarding moving and handling or requiring medication administration.

We can offer part time - 24 hours

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Assist clients with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
Support individuals in daily living activities, promoting independence where possible.
Perform heavy lifting as required to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
Administer medication according to prescribed guidelines and maintain accurate records.
Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Drive clients to appointments or social outings as needed, ensuring their comfort during transport.
Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual needs.

Requirements

Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Valid driving licence is essential for transporting clients as needed.
Relevant qualifications in health or social care would be beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
