Field Service Engineer

Impact Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service Technician to work with one of our clients on a permanent basis. This position involves working on a range of specialist heavy plant and piling machinery, supporting with servicing, repairs, and diagnostics. Our client is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of construction equipment, offering the chance to join a skilled and supportive engineering team.

Salary : 45,000 - 52,000 (Depending on experience)

Hours : Monday to Friday 7:30am - 6pm

Location : Northampton

Key Responsibilities :

• Service and maintain specialist piling rigs and heavy plant equipment
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and electronic systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot electro-hydraulic control systems
• Carry out both yard-based and on-site service visits across the UK and Ireland
• Perform hydraulic equipment maintenance and fault finding
• Provide high-level technical support and liaise with customers directly

Requirements & Competencies :

• Previous experience in heavy plant service and maintenance is essential
• Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly with diesel engines and hydraulics
• Electrical and electronic fault-finding experience
• Familiarity with electro-hydraulic systems
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally (and occasionally to Ireland)
• Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently
