Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Salary: up to 650 per week
Contract: Term-time only (approx. 39 weeks per year)

Horizon Teachers are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive two-form entry primary school located in the heart of Wandsworth. The school caters to children aged 4 to 11 and is known for its nurturing ethos and strong commitment to both academic achievement and emotional well-being.

Ideal Applicant

• Experience working or volunteering in a primary school or educational setting
• Confident in supporting children's learning and development in a classroom environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, flexible, and calm under pressure
• Basic qualifications (e.g. GCSEs) required; relevant TA qualifications preferred
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to child welfare

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons across the primary curriculum
• Provide one-to-one and small group support, including pupils with special educational needs (SEND)
• Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
• Help manage pupil behaviours and ensure a safe, positive learning environment
• Supervise children during playtime, lunch time, and school transitions
• Maintain accurate pupil records and contribute to tracking progress
• Work collaboratively with staff, parents and external professionals when required
• Uphold schools' values of respect, inclusion an achievement
