About the School
Horizon Teachers are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive two-form entry primary school located in the heart of Wandsworth. The school caters to children aged 4 to 11 and is known for its nurturing ethos and strong commitment to both academic achievement and emotional well-being.
Ideal Applicant
Experience working or volunteering in a primary school or educational setting
Confident in supporting children's learning and development in a classroom environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, flexible, and calm under pressure
Basic qualifications (e.g. GCSEs) required; relevant TA qualifications preferred
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to child welfare
Key responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons across the primary curriculum
Provide one-to-one and small group support, including pupils with special educational needs (SEND)
Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
Help manage pupil behaviours and ensure a safe, positive learning environment
Supervise children during playtime, lunch time, and school transitions
Maintain accurate pupil records and contribute to tracking progress
Work collaboratively with staff, parents and external professionals when required
Uphold schools' values of respect, inclusion an achievement
