Hygiene Operative

Job Description

We are currently working with a client based in Houghton Le Spring who are experiencing exciting growth in their Food Manufacturing business. We have a number of roles available with immediate starts for Hygiene Operatives. As a Hygiene Operative you will pay a critical role in ensuring the site remains hygienically clean. Duties

• Set up, run and operate specified equipment within the washroom and process areas without supervision.
• Strip and clean equipment effectively
• Follow cleaning schedules to ensure in depth cleaning is completed to timescales
• Correctly carry out any required quality checks and constantly monitor the condition of the equipment being cleaned. Report any issues.
• Accurately complete all necessary documentation.
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, carrying out duties following GMP and being responsible for the hygiene and housekeeping in the specified work area.
• Replenishment of consumables such as chemicals and hand towels in relevant areas
• Waste disposal including bailing and recycling
• Emptying of LEV units
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, working within 'safe systems of work'.
• Ensure full compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements.
• Assist with the training of other employees as necessary.

Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of Hygiene standards
• Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment
• This is a manual and physical role
• Fork lift license and/ or cherry picker license would be an advantage

Location: Houghton Le Spring

Hours of work:

3 shift rota:

Days - Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm

Lates - Monday to Friday 3pm - 11pm

Nights - Sunday to Thursday 11pm - 7am

Rates of pay:

• Days - GBP12.21
• Lates - GBP13.70
• Nights - GBP15.54
