Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food production and safety. This position is ideal for an individual with strong leadership qualities and a commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards throughout all food preparation processes.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
Support the Head Chef in implementing cost control measures while maintaining quality.
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Excellent knowledge of food production techniques, culinary arts, and food safety regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
