Production Manager

We are recruiting for an established and successful company who manufacture high-quality glazing products and composite doors. They are expanding and opening a new manufacturing facility based in Halifax and are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead the facility through its initial setup, day-to day operations, and continuous growth. Their mission is to deliver exceptional products that set the standard in the industry.

Position Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the full production cycle of composite door manufacturing operations. This role is critical to ensuring efficient, high-quality, and timely production while managing resources, maintaining safety, and controlling costs. The successful candidate will lead a growing team and play a pivotal role in building a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning and Scheduling
• Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Ensure efficient use of materials, equipment, and labour to meet production targets.
• Coordinate with supply chain and logistics to align production with demand.
• Implement and uphold rigorous quality control procedures.
• Monitor product specifications and conduct regular inspections.
• Quickly address any deviations or non-conformance issues.
• Resource & Inventory Management
• Oversee procurement and inventory of raw materials.
• Ensure optimal use and maintenance of production equipment.
• Monitor stock levels to avoid delays or overstocking.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, train, and supervise production staff.
• Foster a team-oriented, safety-conscious, and high-performance culture.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and training sessions.

Cost & Efficiency Management

• Monitor production budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Analyse operational efficiency and implement improvement strategies using lean manufacturing methodologies
• Ensure production stays within financial and resource constraints.

Health & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits.
• Promote a culture of continuous safety awareness and training.
• Evaluate and implement process improvements and new technologies.
• Streamline workflows to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in a production management role, ideally in window and door manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of production planning, materials management, and process optimisation.
• Familiarity with composite door manufacturing and relevant quality standards.
• Effective leadership and people management skills.
