Are you a qualified craft engineer looking for a varied and interesting role where you get to lead a team and take ownership of our facilities contractor relationships on a daily basis?

At Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions (SGIS) we are looking for a Facilities Craft Section Leader to work in our Facilities Maintenance Team, helping to instil through Change Management, a "100 year" repair agenda that delivers sustained reliability within the Plant and Grounds

This Facilities Craft Section Leader role will be a part of the Facilities team. You will line manage our facilities electrician and will also be responsible for managing the contractors working on site; this is an excellent opportunity to broaden your network and gain experience in contractor management. It's a varied role in which no two days are the same, and you will have the opportunity to gain further training in relevant courses, adding additional strings to your bow!

British Gypsum is part of Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions (SGIS). Much of Britain has been built with British gypsum. Gypsum is the vital raw material at the heart of our plaster and plasterboard, and much of it is mined, milled and made in Britain. We have been mining gypsum for more than 150 years, a heritage we're very proud of.

What we're looking for:


An engineering qualification at least at NVQ III level (ideally HNC) in a relevant craft subject
An excellent communicator at all levels
Computer literate, you'll be using Microsoft Office and CMMS software as part of your role
A good practical skill-set - an understanding of all aspects of general building maintenance is really important in this role
Adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple simultaneous priorities

What you will be doing:


Lead, coach and manage our facilities electrician
Manage the contractors who are working on our site. This will involve completing authorisation to work forms, issuing permits, H&S briefs etc
Administrative tasks, the role is around 70% office based, the remainder on the shop floor
Root cause analysis of failures and performing first time repairs, helping to build sustainable maintenance programmes
