Category Marketing Manager



Own an assigned Category Strategy, leading the development, socialisation, and implementation. Keeping it live, dynamic, and stretching.
Manage Category relationship with key accounts to achieve budgeted profitable growth.
Support the Brand Team with market, category and consumer led insight to drive growth for our brand/license portfolio


1. Role Key Accountabilities


Be the voice of the shopper & consumer via effective use of market data, insight & trends.

Develop, and implement shopper & consumer led category plans to support delivery of commercial, and customer objectives.

Create and deliver compelling selling stories for FFG products in conjunction with Sales, Marketing and Development Teams.

Develop category plans to drive our Branded portfolio.

Build positive relationships with external & internal stakeholders.

Attend customer meetings to present latest category, market, and shopper data & insights.


2. Knowledge, Skills and Experience


Essential:

2+ years in a customer facing FMCG Customer Marketing/Category Management (ideally with Major Multiples)

  • Experience of using key category management tools - e.g. EPOS & panel data, shopper & consumer insight, range management, space planning/merchandising
  • Commercial insight & acumen - build/adapt customer/category plans to meet & exceed commercial objectives
  • Able to present category information in a clear & confident way to all audiences
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to interpret multiple data and insight sources to solve problems effectively
  • Ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team
  • P&L understanding
  • Strong attention to detail
  • MS Office skills (Powerpoint & Excel)
  • Educated to Degree level
  • Full clean driving license

Desirable:

  • Bakery Category experience
  • Experience of using retailer loyalty card data platforms
