Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential (Learning Disabilities) Location: Burton on Trent (DE14) Pay: £15.50 per hour plus £70 per sleep-in Average annual salary: £37,900+ (based on 38 hours per week and 2 sleep-ins) The Role We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the effective running of a children’s residential home for young people with Learning Disabilities. This is a hands-on leadership role, supporting the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, child-centred care and maintaining regulatory compliance. Requirements * Minimum Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Children’s Care * Full UK driving licence * Proven experience in children’s residential care, ideally with young people with LD * Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, behaviour support, and Ofsted standards * Ability to lead and support staff, manage rotas, and respond to incidents * Confident in ad-hoc on-call duties Hours & Working Pattern * 38 hours per week, plus sleep-ins * Shifts between 9:30am and 11:00pm, Monday to Sunday * Typical rota: 1 shift on, 2 days off * Ad-hoc on-call responsibilities Key Responsibilities * Support the Registered Manager in day-to-day operations * Lead and supervise staff, providing guidance and mentoring * Manage rotas and shift cover effectively * Respond to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and emergencies * Assist with care planning, documentation, and inspections * Ensure positive outcomes and high-quality care for young people * Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment What We Offer * Competitive hourly rate and enhanced earnings through sleep-ins * Supportive management structure and clear career progression * Opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people How to Apply If you are an experienced children’s residential professional ready to step into a Deputy Manager role, we would welcome your application
