POSITION: Acquisition Surveyor - Retail SALARY: Competitive, company car, pension LOCATION: Flexible – preferably South, West Midlands or West Yorkshire Role Overview Our client is a leading national retailer with a portfolio of over 600 High Street stores. As part of their ambitious growth strategy, they are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced professional to join their Acquisitions team. This role is pivotal in driving continued expansion, with a clear mandate to identify, secure, and deliver high-quality retail locations nationwide. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the business’s objective of opening a minimum of 50 new stores per annum. Regular attendance will be required at the company’s key operational hubs in West Yorkshire and South Wales. Key Responsibilities * Manage the full end-to-end acquisition process, from identifying and appraising new store opportunities through to lease negotiation and completion * Identify, assess, and present new store opportunities aligned with the company’s growth and portfolio strategy * Work closely with internal stakeholders including Finance, Retail Operations, and HR to ensure new store openings meet agreed commercial and operational standards * Collaborate with senior leadership to support wider expansion, diversification, and portfolio optimisation initiatives * Actively target and secure portfolio and individual store acquisitions in line with strategic growth plans Candidate Background & Experience * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Commercial Property / Transaction role. * Estate qualification preferred (but not essential); proven acquisition experience is critical. * Demonstrable experience negotiating all aspects of the acquisition process, including agreements for leases, leases, and occupational specifications. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels. * Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
