Customs Clerk - European Road Freight Location: Bradford Hours: 08:30 - 17:30 (or similar) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £30,000 per annum The Package £30,000 salary 30 days holiday Company pension scheme On-site parking Secure, long-term position within a growing operation The Role We are recruiting a Customs Clerk to join a well-established European road freight operation based in Bradford. This is a customs-clearance focused role, supporting both import and export movements across European road freight, with a particular emphasis on compliance and accuracy. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all customs formalities are completed correctly and on time, supporting the smooth movement of road freight across borders. Key Responsibilities Completing customs clearance for European road freight (imports and exports) Preparing and submitting customs declarations and supporting documentation Processing customs entries using AS400, CNS, and ASM Ensuring all shipments comply with current customs legislation and procedures Liaising with internal operations teams, hauliers, customers, and overseas partners Resolving customs queries, discrepancies, and clearance issues Maintaining accurate records and audit-ready documentation Providing general administrative support relating to customs and compliance Essential: Previous experience working as a Customs Clerk or in a customs-focused role Strong understanding of customs clearance within road freight High level of attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisational and time-management skills Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Fluent in English, both written and verbal Desirable: Export customs experience Knowledge of European road freight or groupage operations Experience using AS400 Strong Excel skills Fluency in an additional European language Why Join Us?
