Job Specification Band 7 Specialist MSK Sonographer Location: Croydon Health Services NHS Trust Band: 7 Specialist Contract Type: Locum Start Date: Ongoing Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (full-time essential) Rates Days: £36 per hour umbrella equivalent Nights & Saturdays: £45.68 per hour Sundays & Bank Holidays: £55.40 per hour Role Overview An opportunity has arisen for experienced Band 7 Specialist MSK Sonographers to support a high-demand ultrasound service within an acute NHS Trust. The role requires autonomous practice, advanced diagnostic skills, and the ability to manage complex MSK caseloads. Key Responsibilities Independently perform and report specialist MSK ultrasound examinations Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging to support clinical decision-making Manage complex referrals and prioritise workload effectively Communicate findings clearly with referrers and MDT colleagues Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting Adhere to governance, audit and quality assurance requirements Support service delivery within a busy acute imaging environment Essential Requirements HCPC registered Sonographer Extensive NHS experience at Band 7 level Advanced MSK ultrasound experience including: Lumps & bumps / soft tissue Anterior abdominal wall Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate advanced clinical judgement Strong communication and professional practice Desirable Skills General / Small Parts ultrasound Head & Neck ultrasound Paediatric ultrasound Eden Brown Synergy is an equal opportunities employer.
