Project Quantity Surveyor

Project Quantity Surveyor | Residential & Commercial | St Alban’s (Office-Based)   Join an established main contractor delivering a mix of residential and commercial projects across the South East and East of England.   This is a hands-on Project Quantity Surveyor role offering genuine ownership of live schemes, close collaboration with delivery teams, and exposure across both housing and commercial builds   You’ll be office-based day to day, with regular visits to live projects to stay close to delivery.   The Role Take commercial responsibility for live residential and commercial projects (£5m–£15m+) • Manage subcontractor procurement, accounts, valuations, and variations • Produce cost reports, forecasts, and CVRs for senior management review • Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to control cost and risk • Support projects from pre-construction through to final account • Office-based role with regular visits to live sites (typically weekly)  What they’re looking for Experienced Project Quantity Surveyor • Background with a main contractor essential • Strong experience in residential new build (commercial exposure a bonus) • Comfortable managing your own projects and subcontractor packages • Commercially sound, organised, and confident working from an office environment • Someone practical and delivery-focused rather than corporate Tier 1  The Company A growing contractor operating across residential and commercial sectors, delivering new build and mixed-use schemes through a straightforward, delivery-led model.   The business offers stability, sensible workloads, and real responsibility — ideal for a QS who wants control of their projects rather than just a small piece of a large commercial machine.   Also known as Project QS, Quantity Surveyor, Project Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor   Interested?
