Technical Sales Engineer Telford We are recruiting an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business that delivers end-to-end engineering solutions across the food sector and other regulated industries. The organisation provides a full in-house service, including CAD design, sheet metal fabrication, conveyor solutions, structural steelwork, laser cutting, site installation, and ongoing machine maintenance. This role will suit a technically strong, commercially minded individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, solutions-led environment. Using a consultative sales approach, the successful candidate will manage incoming enquiries, develop new business opportunities, and take ownership of the sales process from initial contact through to project completion. Key Responsibilities Manage and respond to incoming enquiries from an established customer base Understand customer requirements and propose standard and bespoke engineering solutions Proactively source and develop new business opportunities Prepare and issue accurate quotations for laser cutting, fabrication, and installation work Manage the sales process from quotation through to order completion, resolving any issues along the way Follow up on enquiries and quotations to maximise conversion Close sales and contribute to ongoing revenue growth Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships Represent the business professionally at all times Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in technical sales within an engineering or manufacturing environment Strong background in sheet metal, stainless steel fabrication, and mechanical handling Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Competent using a variety of measuring equipment Excellent verbal and written communication skills High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Ability to meet and exceed sales targets Customer-focused mindset with a consultative approach Experience within the food industry is highly advantageous but not essential Personal Attributes Hard-working, driven, and self-motivated Confident, professional, and positive in approach Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team Resilient and tenacious, with a strong desire to succeed Salary & Benefits Competitive salary and commission structure, dependent on experience and capability Company pension scheme with employer contribution 28 days annual leave, including bank holidays (with additional entitlement linked to length of service) Potential annual bonus based on individual and company performance Life assurance following qualifying service period
