Graduate Teaching Assistant - English Focus | Secondary School | Ealing Start Date: September Contract: Full-time, Term-time only Pay: £95-£110 per day (dependent on experience) A high-performing secondary school in Ealing is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant with a keen interest in English. This role is perfect for graduates planning a PGCE, School Direct, or SCITT pathway who want to build classroom confidence and gain hands-on teaching experience. You will be fully integrated within the English department while also supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4. With a strong emphasis on mentoring, consistent behaviour routines, and staff development, the school offers an excellent environment for aspiring teachers. Key Responsibilities Support students in English lessons and other foundation subjects Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group literacy interventions Assist teachers with lesson planning, resources, and classroom organisation Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and academic confidence Observe and learn effective classroom management strategies The Ideal Candidate Graduate in English or a related discipline (or strong interest in the subject) Motivated to pursue a career in teaching Confident, patient, and professional with secondary-aged students Experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential This role provides a fantastic stepping stone into teacher training, offering practical experience and strong professional references.
