Senior M&E Cost Planner - Freelance North West | Hybrid Working | Competitive Day Rate A leading Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior M&E Cost Planner to support the delivery of major construction projects across the North West on a freelance basis. Project values range from £50m - £250m so experience on these values is required. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of high-value projects, offering a highly competitive day rate and flexible hybrid working arrangements. The Role The successful candidate will play a key role within the commercial and pre-construction team, taking responsibility for both M&E estimating activities and the management of NEC contract compensation events across major schemes. Key responsibilities will include: Preparing and managing detailed M&E cost plans and estimates Supporting pre-construction and tendering activities Overseeing NEC compensation events and change management processes Working closely with project delivery, commercial, and design teams Reviewing subcontractor pricing and assessing value engineering opportunities Providing commercial support across large-scale construction projects Ensuring accurate reporting and cost control throughout project lifecycles Requirements Proven experience as a Senior M&E Cost Planner / M&E Estimator within a Main Contractor environment Strong background delivering major construction projects Extensive knowledge of NEC contracts and compensation event management Ability to work collaboratively across commercial and operational teams Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities What's On Offer Highly competitive freelance day rate Flexible hybrid working arrangement Long-term project pipeline Opportunity to work on high-profile major projects Immediate start availableFor more information or to discuss the opportunity confidentially, please get in touch
