Associate Director - Town Planner


Associate Director – Town Planning Edinburgh £70,000 – £85,000 + benefits A leading UK and Ireland planning consultancy is seeking a commercially minded Associate Director (Town Planning) to help lead and grow its expanding Scottish practice. With a strong pipeline of major development, infrastructure and energy projects, this is an opportunity to combine hands-on project delivery with leadership, client management and strategic business growth. The Role This senior position offers scope to take ownership of complex planning projects while shaping the consultancy’s presence across Scotland. You’ll work closely with clients, manage multidisciplinary teams, and play a key role in driving business development and strategic direction. Key responsibilities include: Leading major planning applications, strategies and appeals Supporting large-scale development and infrastructure projects Developing new business opportunities and contributing to bids and tenders Building lasting relationships with clients, local authorities and key stakeholders Mentoring and developing junior planners Working collaboratively with in-house communications specialists on engagement and consultation activitiesAbout the Consultancy: This firm stands out for its integrated planning and communications model, combining technical expertise with effective stakeholder engagement.
