Elvet Recruitment is proud to be working with a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit a Business Administrator based in County Durham. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and professional team supporting a wide range of surveying and consultancy services across sectors including local authority, residential, infrastructure, education, and commercial. This varied role will see you supporting surveyors and the wider business with day-to-day administration, client communication, diary management, document control, and general office operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the office while delivering a professional and efficient service to both clients and colleagues. What You’ll Be Doing: * Providing day-to-day administrative support across the business * Preparing and maintaining project files and documentation * Drafting letters and issuing correspondence to clients & customers * Recording incoming post, distributing to relevant team members, and tracking responses * Scanning and electronically filing documents in line with company procedures * Maintaining and updating the company’s electronic filing systems * Assisting with taking meeting minutes, preparing reports, and other project documentation * Acting as the first point of contact for telephone calls and client enquiries * Managing appointments, organising meetings, appointments, and surveyor diaries * Booking appointments and issuing job tickets in line with company systems * Ensuring surveyors maintain scheduled appointments and commitments * Forwarding completed reports and documentation to customers and clients * Updating the internal CMS system regularly * Issuing quotations and invoices using accounting software * Supporting with general bookkeeping and tracking orders and invoices * Maintaining and updating ISO systems and documentation * Supporting the team with all other administration duties in line with business needs What We’re Looking For: * GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent) * Strong administration and organisational skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Confident using Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook * Experience within a surveying, construction, property, or professional services environment is advantageous * Experience using Xero or similar accounting software is beneficial, although training will be provided * Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team * Professional, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload effectively * Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks in a busy office environment Role Information: * Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE * Full-time permanent position * Supportive and professional working environment This is a permanent position and Elvet Recruitment Limited will be acting as an employment agency for permanent recruitment on behalf of our client.
