Mechanical Quantity Surveyor - Hyperscale Data Centre 📍 Linz, Austria 🏢 Leading International Consultancy 💰 Up to €150,000 + Benefits The Opportunity A leading international construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a flagship hyperscale data centre development in Linz, Austria. This is a large-scale, mission-critical project forming part of a wider European portfolio. The successful candidate will take ownership of high-value mechanical packages within a technically complex environment. An excellent salary of up to €150,000 is available, reflecting the scale, pace, and importance of the programme. The Role The Mechanical Quantity Surveyor will provide full commercial management across major mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, pipework, cooling systems, and specialist plant. Working alongside the client, consultants, and contractors, you will ensure structured cost control, disciplined change management, and robust financial governance from procurement through to final account. Key Responsibilities Commercial management of large-scale mechanical packages on a hyperscale data centre Cost planning, forecasting, and budget tracking Review and certification of contractor applications and interim valuations Assessment and negotiation of variations and compensation events Risk analysis and cost mitigation strategies Procurement support and tender analysis for mechanical subcontract packages Preparation of detailed cost reports and client updates Management of final accounts and commercial close-out Ensure compliance with NEC, FIDIC or equivalent contract frameworks Candidate Profile Proven experience as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor on complex construction projects Strong background in data centres, mission-critical, industrial, or high-value MEP environments Experience managing HVAC, chilled water, and mechanical plant packages Excellent understanding of contract administration and commercial risk management Strong analytical and financial reporting capability Confident communicator able to operate within international project teams Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline Desirable Prior hyperscale data centre experience Consultancy-side background Experience delivering European-based projects German language skills beneficial but not essential Why Apply?
